Sara Bivetti, who has advanced to the area management of several globegarden childcares, introduces herself with a laugh as globegarden veteran. She has been part of the team for a long time and is highly valued by her colleagues. Her two children were also cared for at globegarden, allowing her to fulfill her role both to her family and to her profession, which for her is a vocation.
Why do you love your profession?
Children are our future, and I firmly believe that early childhood education and care have a tremendous influence on their development. In childcare, we have the opportunity to lay the foundations for lifelong learning and social skills. It’s fulfilling to see how the children develop, discover the world with curiosity and unfold their personalities. Accompanying the kids in this phase of life is a privilege. My job is super fun.
You are a mom of two children yourself. How important are good childcare offers to you?
Extremely important. As a family, it was clear to us from the start that the children should also go to childcare. There, they have even more opportunities to discover the world than at home. Of course, as a mom, it’s also challenging to step back into the profession after giving birth. You’d like to be everywhere at once to do justice to everything. Work is also personally very important to me. I wouldn’t have wanted to miss it. So I had the chance to return at the pace that was right for me and my family.
What does it mean to you to know that your children are well cared for during the day while you work?
It’s just incredibly relieving. I’ve been with globegarden for a long time now. Before I became a mom myself, I witnessed with the parents of the childcare kids that this certainty made it much easier for them to part with their children. You then simply have a much better feeling; you can concentrate fully on your day and your tasks, and at the same time, you’re already looking forward to the time you have together after childcare.
What role does workplace culture play for working mothers?
A very important one. I have always experienced a lot of support in everything at globegarden. A solution is always found together. A certain degree of flexibility is possible. You just need that as a mom. Something unforeseen can always happen. Then you need to be able to react. That’s totally important, especially when grandparents can’t just step in. This appreciative way simply makes it much easier to organize both things well and to create a bit of time for oneself.
