The “Safe Kids Study” at the University of Frankfurt suggests that kindergarten children have a comparatively low risk of corona infection.
The “Safe Kids Study” at the University of Frankfurt suggests that kindergarten children have a comparatively low risk of corona infection.
During the study, 825 children and 372 employees in 50 daycare centers in Hessen, Germany were tested over a period of twelve weeks. Only two subjects tested positive – in both cases caregivers.
The result may come as a surprise, not least because daycare centers are considered places where infectious diseases spread quickly. It seems to be different with Sars-CoV-2. Professor Sandra Ciesek also concludes that “day-care centers seem to have no reservoir for Sars-CoV-2 with a low incidence”.
